Forward notes to the 2024-2025 budget

For the last few years your Parish Council has done everything possible to keep the Parish precept to a minimum. Over the last three financial years (2021/22 to 2023/24) the overall precept has only increased by £500, and the precept per band D household has actually gone down over this period. With high inflation continuing to be an issue for the Council’s main items of expenditure (insurance costs, utilities and wages) and the Parish reserves now at a minimum sustainable level, your Parish Councillors have approved a budget which represents a substantial increase in percentage terms. However, band D households will still only pay £4.72 per month towards their parish costs. This money funds a large recreation ground with a pavilion, woodland areas for recreation, a children’s playground and provision and servicing of bins and also partly funds the village hall. The full justifications and evidence base for the increase can be found within the budget document below.
